Description
The BetterLiving® Simple Music Player is a specially designed MP3 music player catering to individuals diagnosed with dementia. This innovative device boasts effortless operation through a straightforward lid flip. What’s remarkable is that it always resumes playback from where it was last paused, and it operates using just three controls:
1. To start the music, simply lift the lid.
2. Optionally, you can skip to the next song by pressing the prominent button.
3. To halt the music, close the lid.
Initial setup is a breeze and should be completed by the caregiver. This entails uploading a playlist onto the device and adjusting the volume to the desired level. The volume control is thoughtfully designed to prevent accidental adjustments by the user. Should you wish to change the music selection at any time, just repeat this setup process.
Uploading a playlist is a straightforward task; connect the Simple Music Player to a computer (comprehensive instructions are provided to ensure ease of setup). Volume adjustment is equally hassle-free—simply use a pencil or similar object to press and hold one of the buttons underneath the player. Only after maintaining this hold for 5 seconds will the volume begin to increase or decrease, allowing you to set it precisely as needed.
The BetterLiving® Simple Music Player was developed with the backing of research from the Bath Institute of Medical Engineering. Extensive testing has confirmed its play mechanism is exceptionally intuitive and doesn’t require any prior knowledge or memory to operate. Its design is reminiscent of classic radios, making it instantly recognisable as a device for playing music.
